Pan-plug seal (full name: pan-plug spring tension energy storage support seal, also known as spring tension seal, spring energy storage seal) is a seal made of PTFE or other high-performance materials with special springs, by the appropriate spring force plus system fluid pressure, the seal lip (surface) out and gently press the sealed metal surface to produce a very excellent sealing effect. The actuating effect of the spring can overcome the slight eccentricity of the metal mating surface and the wear of the sealing lip, while maintaining the desired sealing performance. As the main material of pan plug sealing shell, polytetrafluoroethylene has excellent chemical resistance than perfluorinated rubber, and is a sealing material with good heat resistance. Can be applied to the vast majority of chemical fluids, solvents, as well as hydraulic oil, lubricating oil, its inflation is very small so it can play a long-term sealing performance, the use of a variety of special springs to overcome the elastic problems of Teflon or other high-performance rubber plastics, the development of most can be replaced in static or dynamic (reciprocating or rotating motion) seals. Reasonable shell material and support spring plus professional sealing design, can make the use of the plug seal temperature range of -200℃ to 260℃, pressure from vacuum to ultra-high pressure 200Mpa, line speed up to 15m/s, so it can be applied to a variety of high and low temperature corrosion fluid and other occasions.

The pan plug seal can be made according to the AS568A standard O-ring groove (such as radial shaft seal, piston seal, axial face seal, etc.), completely replace the universal O-ring, or we can provide a reasonable groove design. The pan plug seal can maintain good sealing performance for a long time because it has no trouble of swelling. For example, the mechanical shaft seal applied to the high-temperature corrosion environment of the petrochemical process, the common cause of leakage in addition to the uneven wear of the sliding ring, the O-ring’s inferior cracking damage is also the main cause, and the rubber softening, swelling, surface coarsing, wear and other problems can be completely improved after switching to the pan plug seal, thus greatly improving the service life of the mechanical shaft seal. Pan plug sealing is suitable for both static and static, in addition to the above high temperature corrosion environment sealing applications, because of its low seal lip friction coefficient, seal contact pressure stability, high pressure resistance, allow large radial bias and groove size error, it is very suitable for air hydraulic cylinder seals, replace U or V shape packing and obtain excellent sealing performance and service life.
